Advertising That Didn’t Bring Customers In
European Kitchen & Bath (EKB) originated in South Florida selling discontinued Blanco and Franke sinks and faucets, and has grown to sell a wide range of current kitchen and bathroom fixtures and accessories across its two 3,000-square-foot showrooms.
EKB tried to grow with a traditional marketing campaign—a digital billboard plus newspaper and television ads—but the channels were not effective. “People coming into our showrooms didn’t say that they came in because they saw our ads,” said owner Jon Campion. The company’s existing website compounded the problem by sending visitors to manufacturers’ websites whenever they clicked a product listing. “We were actually directing traffic away from our site,” said Jon. “That wasn’t smart at all.”
